Robert specialises in producing landscape, architectural and social images (portraiture / documentary / weddings). Robert also produces images for PR / band promotion-live shots & events.
Roberts editorial & landscape work has been published in The Guardian, several of the 'Public Service Review' series, The Defence Management Journal, defencemanagment.com), & Staffordshire Life Magazine amongst others.
Is this the Contemporary Picturesque?
Within the Fine Art context, Robert has been producing images for the last three years on a series called 'Is this the Contemporary Picturesque?'. The work has been Exhibited in Wolverhampton, Stafford, Shrewsbury, Newcastle under Lyme & most recently in Brighton as part of the Photography Biennial Fringe Festival. Please click here to view.
Robert is the Chief Photographer for the Staffordshire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, a registered charity. The Campaign to Protect Rural England exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural England by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in town and country.

Continuing to produce eyecatching images of architecture & expanding his portfolio, Robert has recently added some of his late summer work to the Architecture section of his portfolio. The images are of a Medical Library building within the NHS North Staffordshire estate.

As part of the Photographic group 'Ten' Robert will be exhibiting within the 'Convergence' showcase during the Brighton Biennial Photogtraphy Festival; specifically within the Fringe Festival located in Brighton & Hove, Sussex. Robert is a member of the photographic group 'Ten' a group of photographers from the West Midlands. As part of the 'Ripe' showcase at the Lighthouse Gallery in Wolverhampton (directions), Ten are presenting a showcase entitled 'Convergence'. (Release below):

RIPE SHOWCASE
This summer Light House Gallery and Rhubarb-Rhubarb have joined forces to bring you Ripe – two fantastic photography shows of new work by emerging photographers. Ripe showcases the work of 16 West Midlands photographers and unites the latest crop of talent from the Creative Alliance mentoring course with the Rhubarb bursary scheme.
Convergence by Ten will be showing in the Main Gallery (Fri 4 Jul - Fri 1 Aug). The exhibition features work concerning the environment, good time girls of the gold rush, the seaside, a death in the family, architecture and beach huts, by a group of photographers who met on the 2007 mentoring course, Morning After, run by Creative Alliance.

Robert has had 2 images selected to appear in this years Open Art Exhibition at the Shirehall Gallery in Stafford town centre (for location details & opening times, please click here. Images have been uploaded from Roberts recent commission for the CPRE. The images can be found in the 'Architectural Studies' & 'Landscape' folders. The images were published in the latest issue of the CPRE Staffordshire, newsletter. Robert has been busy over the last few months developing films & printing them to expand upon his portfolio of the study 'Is this the Contemporary Picturesque?' These images will find their way to the online gallery as soon as possible & a headline will be placed here to advise. Some of this work will also be appearing at an exhibition at the Lighthouse Gallery in Wolverhapmton, starting July 1st for 1 month, as part of a showcase of emerging photographic talent across the Midlands. More news & updates will be added in due course.

Sunday 12th August, 2007:
Robert has recently been uploading work that he has captured at two former grand estates within North Staffordshire. The work forms a collection from the former Sneyd estate at Keele (now Keele University) & the former Leveson-Gower estate at Trentham (now Trentham Awakes). The work captures images of any remaining architecture & aspects of other design such as planting & landscaping etc. pre: 1910. This image won the Newscastle under Lyme sector of 'The Brilliant Buildings' photography competition, set up by Urban Vision, North Staffordshire in April, 2007.
Thurs 28th June, 2007:
The following image was one of a selection that Robert submitted for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2007 competition, set up bt the Natural History Museum, London & sponsored by shell. The image managed to reach the semi finals after being selected from over 35,000 entries from 78 countries. The image was submitted to the 'One Earth Award'.
27th June, 2007:

May, 2007:

Mon 28th May, 2007:
Robert will be showcasing his work in an exhibition at the main library in Newcastle under Lyme until the 11th June, 2007 (two weeks). The framed pieces are part of his 'Contemporary Picturesque' study, captured around the Western Urban Villages region of Newcastle, Staffordshire. The work aims to address the condition & treatment of our green spaces & to raise awareness of our social morality with regards to it. The pieces will also be available for sale.
